  108.     Welcome to a special issue that welcomes Ygdrasil's upcoming second
  109.     Birthday. It's hard to imagine that it's been this long, and that
  110.     we've come this far - but it's all been worth it. There's no regrets -
  111.     only gratitude.
  112.  
  113.     I'd like to thank some friends who've made this wonderful experience
  114.     possible for me: Klaus Gerken, for his brave spirit and unstoppable
  115.     enthusiasm; Paul Lauda, for almost going to the poor house by doing
  116.     his thing to improve the world; Evan Light, for energetic activism;
  117.     Pedro Sena, for vision, truth and dreams; Tom Almy, for quiet and
  118.     dutiful service to others; all those that fought for dignified and
  119.     worthy causes; and all those we've lost along the way.

  121.     This issue steps forward into a realm of art that's just as poetic,
  122.     though much less wordy - throughout the issue there's intertwined
  123.     poems, pictures, sculptures and grafix. So if you're not seeing the
  124.     Web version, you're missing most of the show; and if you're just
  125.     seeing the only text & pictures, then that's barely second-best. If
  126.     you're only reading the text, well, I can only gently say that there's
  127.     a great deal more to this issue than what you're seeing. This is all
  128.     about hushed voices and images....

  157.     Cobwebs in musty closets, filled with things that weren't there. A
  158.     quiet drape of disappointment, maybe not too far from truth. Currents
  159.     seem like the only movement; close the window, kill the lights. Hazy
  160.     imperfection; outlines, shadows ... patient things.

  162.     Motion is measured by a framed perspective. Distances traveled; vistas
  163.     past. Sometimes seems like we're actually moving ... but it's always
  164.     just the earth beneath us - washing by.

  166.     Drive through every city and you're seeing the same thing, every
  167.     channel playing the same dry song. Flat dullness, rolling across an
  168.     absent void. We are our world. It's not surprising.

  1186.        I consider Centipede to be a Public Network; however, its a
  1187.        specialized network, dealing with any type of creative thinking.
  1188.        Therefore, that makes us something quite exotic, since most
  1189.        nets are very general and have various topics, not of interest
  1190.        to a writer--which is where Centipede steps in!  No more fuss.
  1191.        A writer can now download the whole network, without phasing
  1192.        out any more conferences, since the whole net pertains to
  1193.        the writer's interests.  This means that Centipede has all
  1194.        the active topics that any creative user seeks.  And if we
